Filming Compassion

Hello Everyone!!!

This week's article I thought was very informative, because it gave us a new look about a subject that is quickly disappearing in the secondary schools which is Cinematography. This idea of having students create their own short stories through filming is a great way to have these kids learn on the fly, and get the hands-on training necessary. It mentioned in the article that there is not enough resources or teachers to help these kids with their production, but that can be good so the students will have to be able to adjust on their own. Learning how to edit, long range shots, short range shots, and recording are vital tools that should be taught more in the school system, because I am very ignorant when it comes to video editing, and all of the other little gadgets that come with filming. If kids are taught at a young age to learn all of these tools when it comes to film work then these kids become more well rounded and are able to go little further in life with this education. Then the kids in the article are looking to do short documentaries on organizations that will benefit society in a positive way. One of the other good things about this filming project is that they can also get involved with their community a little bit more, and are able to recognize projects that are going on outside of school.
